Former Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) Managing Director, David Kimosop, was arrested on Friday morning upon arrival at the JKIA from Tanzania.

Kimosop is one of the 28 suspects accused of embezzling at least Ksh19 billion in the Arror and Kimwarer dam projects scandal.

The former KVDA boss was taken to the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road for questioning.

Kimosop, the DCI says, will be arraigned anytime from Friday, July 26.

Investigations into construction of the Ksh63 billion multi-purpose dams in Elgeyo-Marakwet County revealed that different parties including National Treasury’s top bosses, Henry Rotich and Kamau Thugge, KVDA honcho, Kimosop, among others breached procurement processes, leading to the taxpayer losing at least Ksh19 billion in the two projects.

Rotich and Thugge last Tuesday denied abuse of office, neglect of duty among other charges when they were arraigned alongside other officials.
