Police in Westlands, Nairobi, are investigating an incident in which four armed robbers raided two homes in Kitisuru, Westlands sub-county and made away with Ksh700,000 and other valuables.

The robbers allegedly raided the homes of two brothers; Dinesh Bhanderi and Ramesh Bhanderi where they made away with Ksh450,000 and Ksh250,000 from each respectively.

The robbers also made away with jewellery and two watches of unknown value.

"Security officers from the two residents reported that there was a robbery incident in Kitusuru Estate at gate 1.4B house number 4 and 5 that occurred on Sunday night," the police said.

The scene of the incident has since been visited by the Officer Commanding Station Spring Valley and his team and officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The investigations by the officers have already established that the robbers were armed with pistols at the time of the robbery and that they gained entry into the compound by cutting a section of its electric fence from the backyard.

"The robbers gained entry into the compound by cutting an electric fence from the backyard before attacking and tying the nightguards. They later gained entry into the house where they stole the valuables through the windows.

"They later escaped from the house through the same route they gained access and disappeared in the nearby bush. Nobody was injured during the incident," the police report said.
