Kenyan comic Meshack Kiprop alias Arap Uria has finally met renowned British Sports commentator Peter Drury.
Uria who is known for lip-synching Drury's commentaries set tongues wagging after he earlier shared a tweet pleading to meet the commentator.
Dressed in his signature look, Uria who is currently in Qatar for the World Cup was holding a placard requesting to meet the commentator.
"Hello, Peter Drury, it's Arap Uria. I am in Qatar and I would like to meet you." the placard read in parts.
Shortly after the tweet, Drury's co-commentator Jim Beglin pledged to ensure his wishes were fulfilled.
"I have passed on your tweet to Peter. I hope it all works out for you. Good luck, Peter will contact you tomorrow, Arap," Jim tweeted.
The content creator who could not hide his joy after he met Drury, shared photos of himself and the commentator donning his (Uria's) signature look.
“Gooooal!!!😂😂 Finally with Peter Drury. Many thanks, Jim Beglin." Uria wrote.
While this was a dream come true for the comic, a section of Kenyans expressed dissatisfaction while others lauded the comic for his resilience that bore fruits.
