Twenty seven residents of Kisumu drawn from Nyalenda and Milimani areas were on Friday morning (May 29) arrested while exercising.

Kisumu Senior Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondieki was told that the 27, including seven minors, gathered in contravention of COVID-19 safety directives that prohibit gatherings made up of more than 15 people.

The accused pleaded guilty to the charges pressed against them, and were freed on Ksh1, 000 each.
