Just days after three terror convicts who escaped from Kamiti prison were rearrested in Machakos, three other suspects have escaped police custody in Tansmara West sub-county, Narok County.

According to a police report, the three suspects escaped from the Kilgoris Police Station on Saturday, November 20 early morning after breaking the cell's wall.

"It was reported by NO 90198 PC Jalaus Okoa the report office personnel reported three suspects who were in the police cells had escaped. SCPS, SCCIO, OCS together with other officers visited the scene at the station cells building and established that the three suspects in cells names: Shadrack Leparan, 29, a murder suspect, Enocj Ndege, 28, a theft suspect, and Patrick Mausa 31, had escaped breaking cell wall," a police report read.

The suspects are said to have crafted a hot on the brick wall by removing some bricks next to the cell's door. They are said to have escaped to a nearby Kilgoris township.

Though the three escaped after breaking the wall, they left two other suspects who claimed that they did not hear their colleagues escape the cells.

"There were a total of five suspects in the same cells and the remaining two reported that they did not hear their colleagues escape. The night duty officer CPL Carmax Okello did not notice the escape," the police report added.

Following the incident, three officers - CPL Carmax Okelo, Jalus Okoa and Andrew Bett - have been taken into custody as they wait to be arraigned in court on Monday.
