Amos Nyaribo sworn in as new Nyamira governor

Amos Nyaribo has officially been sworn in as the second Governor of Nyamira County.

Nyaribo was sworn in at Nyamira Primary grounds on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.

The newly sworn-in governor was also handed over the instruments of power by the Nyamira County Secretary.

He later signed the Leadership and Integrity Code which was issued to him by a representative from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

Nyaribo was the deputy to the late John Nyagarama since 2013 and was re-elected again in 2017.

In both elections, they were voted on an Orange Democratic Movement ticket.

Nyagarama died on December 18, 2020, at Nairobi Hospital where he was admitted.

He was buried at his Tente home in Borabu, Nyamira County.

Leaders in attendance included Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa, Kakamega Governor and Council of Governors Chairman Wycliffe Oparanya, Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi, North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko and Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose.
