Alarm as leaflets order non-locals to move out, probe launched

Police in Kipkaren, Uasin Gishu County are investigating an incident where leaflets were circulated in the area warning non-locals to move out.

In a police report seen by Mediamax Digital, the leaflets were circulated on Saturday, December 3, 2020, causing tension in Kipkaren.

The matter was reported by Mau Kipkaren elder identified as Mr Tanui that several leaflets had been circulated threatening non-locals.

“Police rushed to the estate and found the leaflets scattered all over which targeted non-locals,” the report read in part.

It further revealed that police have been deployed within the Estate and they are investigating to establish the “authenticity of the leaflets and no arrest has been made so far.”
