The Attorney-General (AG) Kihara Kariuki has accused the Chief Justice David Maraga of grandstanding and playing to the gallery over his press briefing delivered yesterday.
Refusing to be drawn into a public spat with the Judiciary head, AG Kariuki said that the Executive will continue communicating with the other arms of the government through established channels and norms.
"The Executive declines to comment on the merits and demerits of the issues raised by the Honourable Chief Justice in his media briefing," said AG Kariuki.

The AG also accused CJ Maraga of expressing extra-judicial opinions on matters that are pending before courts and that may eventually end up in the Supreme Court.
"The Executive shall continue reaching out to other arms of government to create synergies and co-operation as demanded by the people of Kenya," said Kariuki.
On June 8, CJ Maraga had accused Kariuki of not seeking a stay of execution and only filing notices of appeal on court orders demanding that President Uhuru Kenyatta appoints 41 judges picked by the Judicial Service Commission.
But the AG fired back at Maraga saying it was unusual for the CJ to continue pushing for the appointment of judges whose integrity has been questioned.
