An activist has moved to court petitioning the Public Service Commission to eject Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji from office.

Through lawyers Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta, activist Charles Waithaka made the application accusing Haji of incompetence, bias, discrimination, abuse of office and breach of the rule of law among others.

In court documents seen by K24 Digital on Monday, November 22, Waithaka said that the office of the DPP has been tainted with corrupt practices, favoritism, nepotism, tribalism, clannism, misuse and abuse of office and high degrees of incompetence since Haji took over.

"Since Mr Noordin Haji took office, the welfare and the working environment of the staff of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has greatly detoriated and highly compromised," the petition by Waithaka read in part.

According to the activist, the laid procedure of appointment of persons to particular positions has detoriated during Haji's reign adding that the hiring of stuff has become a shambolic exercise full of corruption.

"This is evident in the recent shortlisting of candidates which was based on tribalism, favoritism, nepotism and clannism instead of qualifications," the petition stated further.

Waithaka also petitioned PSC to forward his petition to President Uhuru Kenyatta and recommend the immediate suspension of Haji from office.
