8 killed, 3 injured in Kilifi after matatu, lorry collide

Eight people were on Sunday killed and three others critically injured in an accident involving a 14-seater matatu and lorry.

Coast Region Traffic Police Commandant, Mr Peter Maina, said all the deceased were in the matatu and died on the spot at the scene of the accident in Tororo, Kilifi County.

Mr. Maina said the matatu was bound for Mombasa from Malindi when the accident occurred at about 6pm.

The injured were taken to local hospitals.
