A retired teacher was found dead on Thursday at a local lodge in Molo, Nakuru county.

The 76-year-old had spent the night with an unidentified lady who took off after the occurrence.

In a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the former teacher's body was found lying lifeless on a bed at Salama boarding and lodging.

Eyewitnesses say the man had booked the room at around 10 pm before a young lady joined him after 30 minutes.

His body was discovered by a cleaner who immediately alerted the officers in Molo.

This comes just two days after a similar incident was reported in Mlolongo where two used condoms were also discovered beside the dead body.

"Owing to an increase of similar cases across the country some of which go unreported, the DCI is advising lodge owners to record the details of every person who accesses their facilities, as indicated in their national identification documents," part of the statement read.
