A total of 60 foreigners believed to be from South Sudan and Ethiopia were rescued on Thursday, June 23 by DCI detectives acting on intelligence reports.
In a statement, the sleuths managed to trace the location of the victims to an apartment in Tassia, Embakasi in Nairobi County.

According to DCI, they would later find the victims aged between 14 and 50 years congested in a room in an inhumane condition.
Upon further investigations, the detectives established that the group had temporarily been hosted in the area awaiting transportation overseas as human slaves.
"Detectives have rescued 60 victims of human trafficking, who were being held at an apartment in Tassia, en route for sale as human slaves, overseas. The victims aged between 14 and 50 were being trafficked from two countries neighbouring Kenya to the north against their will," the DCI statement read in parts.
After the rescue operation, they arrested three suspects believed to be among the larger human trafficking syndicate alleged to be operating across the Horn of Africa.
The three include; Mohammed Omar Aden, 29, Halima Mohammed Osman, 43, and 23-year-old Sala Yusuf.
Both the suspects and the victims are currently being held at various police stations in Nairobi awaiting legal procedures.
