Police are investigating an incident in which a 57-year-old woman was found dead inside her house at Sunrise Estate in Kajiado town.

Neighbours reportedly found her lifeless body in bed with traces of foam coming from her mouth.

Witnesses suspect she might have taken a toxic substance after a cup that contained an unknown white substance was found by her side.

Kajiado Central Sub County police commander David Loronyokwe said a suicide theory could not be ruled out as physical examination had established that the body had no visible injuries or marks apart from the white foam oozing from her mouth.

“We received a report from one of the' Nyumba Kumi’ elders that there was a dead woman in her house. It is suspected that she committed suicide as she was foaming in the mouth and a cup with a white precipitate was found next to her.” Said Loronyokwe.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman could have been suffering from depression.

She is also said to have been suffering from Tuberculosis and was frequently visiting the Kajiado Referral Hospital for treatment.

Her body was taken to the Kajiado Referral Hospital mortuary, awaiting a postmortem.

Elsewhere in Kitengela town, a thirteen-year-old boy lost his life after he fell into an open septic tank while playing football with his friends.

The boy had just sat for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams this year.

It took combined efforts from neighbours to retrieve his body from the septic tank. His body was moved to the Kitengela Sub- County hospital mortuary.
