Police on Friday arrested four KWS officers attached to Baakwa Police Station in Samburu County after they allegedly robbed relatives who were returning to their Lodogojek home from a dowry-payment function on December 26.
The four: James Lamata, Brian Kiplangat, Dad Said and Peter Kirui, who were on board a KWS vehicle -- a Toyota Landcruiser -- allegedly stopped the family members and robbed them of their Ksh9, 500 and other personal items.
“Upon receiving the report and conducting identification parade to pick out the culprits who had disappeared to their station after the robbery, detectives arrested the four suspects,” said the DCI in a Twitter post Saturday.
“All [the suspects have been] placed in custody pending arraignment to answer to charges of robbery with violence, contrary to section 296 (2) of the Penal Code,” said the DCI.
