4 die in MP Mwashetani’s campaign vehicle accident

Four people are feared dead following a road accident today afternoon at Lungalunga constituency in Kwale county.

The four who are part of MP Khatib Mwashetani's campaign team include two security officials, a driver and a media person.

They are said to have been involved in the accident while heading to Kanana for campaigns.

Confirming the incident, Lungalunga deputy County commissioner Joseph Sawe said that the accident was caused by a tire burst.

"The vehicles were at a high speed heading to Kanana and one of them had a tyre burst where it rolled severally," Sawe said.

Sawe also said that the accident occurred at around 3:30 pm.

The deceased have been taken to Msambweni referral hospital mortuary.

"Bodies of the deceased have been taken to Msambweni referral hospital mortuary," he added.

The county boss called on drivers to be cautious during this election period and drive at a minimal speed.

"No need to over speed let the drivers be cautious during this time. Speed kills," Sawe said.
