Three suspected gangsters were on Thursday night shot dead by police officers at Kwa Mbao in Kariobangi, Nairobi County.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspects were recently caught on CCTV robbing a shop in the area.

Further, police said the suspects were also linked to other violent robberies reported in the area over the past two months.

Police claimed that the armed suspects had been robbing locals and escaping using a boda boda.

After the Thursday night shootout, police said they recovered two pistols, several rounds of ammunition, spent cartridges and an unregistered motorcycle.

One of the suspects survived the shootout and escaped to an unknown location.
