Police in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County have launched a hunt for a 28-year-old man who stabbed his 33-year-old lover’s son on Wednesday night (October 21).

The suspect had visited his lover at her matrimonial home in Sotiki Village, when the woman’s husband, 45, returned home unannounced and caught the youthful man in bed with his wife.

The woman’s hubby, Reuben Kirui, had suspected his spouse was doing something wrong, when he found a motorbike had been parked right outside his door, and his calls for the door to be opened, met with resistance. The incident happened at 9:30pm.

The 45-year-old man, however, managed to break down the door, and found his wife and her lover on their matrimonial bed.

The youthful man, however, surged at her lover’s husband, grabbed him by the shoulders and shoved him aside before escaping on foot, leaving his motorbike behind.

“I raised the alarm, shouting ‘thief, catch him!’. My sons responded to the distress call. The boys managed to corner him, but he whipped out a kitchen knife and stabbed my teenage son in the hand, before escaping,” said Kirui.

Neighbours, who rushed to the scene due to the resultant melee, torched the suspect’s motorbike.

Kirui said he suspected his wife was cheating on him with the assailant, but he (Kirui) was yet to get concrete proof.

Kirui’s 18-year-old son, who was harmed by the suspect, was taken to Olenguruone Sub-County Hospital in Kuresoi South, where he is responding well to treatment.

Kirui’s wife escaped during the melee.
