24-year-old Abraham Osoi Orikai MCA-elect for Matapato North ward on a Wiper ticket is the youngest Kajiado politician.

Osoi, a graduate of KCA University and an accountant by profession recounts the hurdles he has endured in his political journey.

He entirely focused on the door-to-door campaigns due to a lack of financial muscle but remained steadfast and focused.

Having chosen to vie on a Wiper ticket in a region that has over the years been predominantly affiliated to ODM, Osoi says he is determined to redeem youth leadership by diligently serving his electorates.

Speaking to K24 Digital at the Maasai Technical Training Institute tallying centre shortly after being declared the winner by the centre Returning Officer Mugo Ngunjiri, Osoi challenged youthful persons to join politics.

"I am grateful to God and to the voters of my ward. I am humbled by the unconditional support I have received from my voters. I look forward to striving to prove youth leaders can deliver by striving my best in all endeavours to bring development to my ward," Osoi says.

He says the young generation has what it takes to change the narrative and win elections.

"Kenyan voters are choosing to respect democracy at the expense of being compromised. Crowds no longer matter because voters are more focused on the ballot and they are making independent choices," Osoi added.
