A teenage boy aged 16 years old who is alleged to have defiled a six years old girl was on Friday charged with the offence at Kapenguria law court.
The suspect is accused of committing the offence in the Murkwijit area within West Pokot County on June 28, 2021, at an unknown time.
Appearing before Senior Principal Magistrate Samuel K. Mutai at a Kapenguria Law Court, the accused was charged with an offence of defilement contrary to section 8 (1) (2) of the sexual offences Act no 3 of 2006 where he pleaded not guilty in court.

The suspect is also alternatively charged with committing an offence of indecent act with the minor where he is accused of touching her private parts contrary to the sexual offences Act of 2006.
The court ordered the accused to be supplied with a statement for the case and an advocate to be appointed to act for him. The case will be mentioned on July 8, 2021, for a pre-trial.
