By Dickson Wekesa,

Fifteen passengers have died after two buses collided near Gede town on the Malindi-Mombasa Highway early Wednesday morning, April 7, at about 7 am.

Kilifi County Commissioner Kutswa Olaka said that 14 passengers died on the spot while another died in hospital.

Fourteen others were injured but the number of casualties was likely higher as many were hurriedly rushed to hospital in private cars.

One of the buses was heading to Garissa from Mombasa while the other one was bound for Mombasa from Malindi.
