14 Ethiopians arrested in Kirinyaga for being in the country illegally

Kirinyaga Police have arrested 14 Ethiopian nationals suspected to be in Kenya illegally.

According to a police report seen by K24 Digital, the 14, who are four adults and 10 Children aged between 12 and 16 years old, were in the company of two Kenyans.

They were arrested following an accident that happened at Kibirigwi area along the Karatina Sagana highway at around 9 am yesterday.

"Investigations revealed that the vehicle was ferrying 14 male aliens of Ethiopian origin and a Kenyan female, " the report read in parts.

They are being held at Baricho police station while investigations have been launched to establish more details as to how they got into the country.

"The driver, a Kenyan, and all the passengers were arrested and placed in custody for further investigations," the report indicated.

However, no one was injured during the said accident that involved a Toyota Prado vehicle that they were travelling in.

The report further notes that the vehicle was towed and detained at the Baricho police station with dents as a result of the accident.
