A class seven girl who left home on Friday around 6 am for school but went missing on her way has been found.

Hibo Farah was found after she was dropped in the 12th Street Area in Eastleigh by an unknown taxi man around 8:30 pm after going missing for hours.

The 13-year-old pupil of California Integrated Academy in Eastleigh brought commotion in the town when tens of residents came out to confirm her wellbeing after hours of search.

Video accessed by K24 Digital showed a huge crowd of people camping at the California Police Station where the girl's case had been reported to follow up on the matter.

On her way to the hospital, where police took her for medical assessment to confirm her well-being, a huge crowd of residents accompanied the officer as seen in videos accessed by K24 Digital.

A source told K24 Digital that the girl was found "safe and in good health" as confirmed by her family members and her school, California Integrated Academy.

According to Mohamed Ashkir, who claims knowledge of the matter, her kidnappers claimed Kshs 30,000 ransom for her release.

He says the amount was sent to them leading to the release.

"They ordered for Kshs30,000 and it was sent to Hibane leading to her release. The money of the soul is more important than the soul, but slaves who have learned how to make money easily will never stop," he wrote on his Facebook page after running an online campaign that aimed at searching for the missing girl.

Attempts by K24 Digital to reach out to her parents and the school by the time of going to press were ongoing.
