In the last 24 hours, eleven Kenyans have tested positive for the coronavirus disease.

This brings the total of those infected with Covid-19 in Kenya to 208.

Four of the cases were from the mandatory centres while seven were picked by surveillance teams.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that the country has had 15 new recoveries, bringing the total to 40 but with nine people succumbing to date.

CS Kagwe said that the national government is aware of the controversial burial of James Oyugi Onyango.

But the Health CS urged Kenyans to be mentally prepared for cultural practices as the country deals with extreme Covid-19 situation.

cultural practices of how we dispose bodies of our loved ones may not be practical in an extreme situation. Be mentally prepared that Covid-19 victims shall be disposed in a manner that protects the living from infection.

"Moving forward, there will be challenges. Our cultural practices of how we dispose of bodies of our loved ones may not be practical in an extreme situation. Be mentally prepared that Covid-19 victims shall be disposed of in a manner that protects the living from infection," said Mr. Kagwe.
