Ten Kithyoko Secondary School students have been injured after their school bus was involved in an accident on the Kithyoko-Masinga road early Monday morning.

Machakos County Disaster Management Director, David Mwongela, said that the bus driver seemed to have lost control of the vehicle which veered off the road and rolled several times.

The road, Mwongela said, was slippery following heavy rains that poured in the area on Monday night.

Some of the injured students were treated at the Kithyoko Hospital while five others were taken to Mwingi Level 4 Hospital.

The school bus was carrying 41 students and four teachers.

The students were heading back to school but it has not yet been established where they were coming from.
