A 45-year-old man has come out to defend his odd inconsequential life after adopting a women’s lifestyle to avoid being killed.

The man identified as Samuel Minani alias Baby also a married man and a father of four has been leading a double life for a quarter-century now since the infamous Burundi civil war that saw men being killed in masses.

“I was not born this way. I changed slowly.”

He says his decision saved his life.

“I heard a voice from the heart telling me to dress up like a woman. Then, one day, the perpetrators knocked on my door, looking for the man of the house. But I told them only women lived there, and when they searched the house, they did not find the man and left.”

However, his decision has seen him being hit on by fellow men something he is learning to overlook.

“Previously, fellow men would fall in love with me, but most people now know I am not a woman,” he told Afrimax.

His wife Irambona Denyse says they share clothes with her husband and she is not embarrassed by him. She adds Baby is a real man to him and satisfies her regardless of his lifestyle.

“That is why we have a big family,” she stated.

“We all wear the same clothes- no one has their clothes. Everyone wears whatever they want,” she added.
