Raila Odinga's lastborn daughter Winnie Odinga celebrated what would be her brother's 49th birthday in a touching post.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, Winnie took to social media and shared an old photo she posed with Fidel while he was a student and her still a toddler on what appears to be school visiting day.

She noted that Wednesday, November 2, 2022, would have been Fidel's 49th birthday.

"It would have been your 49th birthday today. Rest east baba Allay," Winnie Odinga wrote.

Depression

Speaking during an interview with Mwafreeka Mwaf in June 2022, Winnie revealed that she did not cry when her brother died.

Raila's youngest daughter noted that she only started crying when the casket bearing Fidel's body was being lowered into the grave.

"When he died I didn't cry I just started crying like when we were now burying him. But then you know when you are doing a funeral process watu wako wengi you just there… There is just so much going on you just don't feel it. It's after that body goes in and you just there with your family that's when you feel it. And that's really the time guys really enter depression and things like that," she said.

The 32-year-old further recalled how she fell into depression after her late brother was buried. She said that she is still traumatized by Fidel's death and that she's currently seeing three therapists.

However, Winnie noted that she does not share everything with her three therapists. She explained that she chooses to talk about different topics with each therapist during the counselling sessions.

"I went through the worst depression after he died. And that's when I started like… My sister-in-law took me she said like you have to meet this person - a therapist. That's when I started seeing a therapist you know believing in stuff like that, talking about it. Now I have three. I have three but I don't tell them the whole story. One guy I will talk relationships, the other one daddy issues the other one what… So not everybody knows the full story but yeah," she said.
