Singer Willy Paul is the latest Kenyan celebrity to join the political arena ahead of the 2022 General Elections.

In a social media post, Willy Paul revealed that he is planning to vie for the Mathare parliamentary seat in next year's general elections.

The Saldido Records boss did not, however, reveal the political party that will sponsor his parliamentary bid.

The Sitolia hitmaker will be seeking to unseat the current area MP Oluoch Anthony Tom of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

In his announcement, the controversial artist promised to deliver change to the people of Mathare if he ascends to power.

According to him, he is the change the people of Mathare have been yearning for.

"Are you ready Mathare? Let's bring that change," he said.

Willy Paul joins a stream of celebrities who have thrown their hats into the ring of politics. Some of those celebrities include comedians Jalango, MC Jessy, and actor OJ.
