Sharon Obara crowned Miss Kenya 2021

Sharon Obara was last night crowned as Miss Kenya 2021 at an all glamorous event held at Trademark Hotel, Nairobi.

Sharon who is gorgeous, smart, captivating and everything in between took home the win to beat 16 other girls with Chantou Kwamboka and Mwihaki Njogu taking second and third place, respectively.

The screen-sizzling beauty stunned in a red gown took over the crown from the former beauty queen Wavinya Maria.

Taking to social media, Sharon in an Instagram post expressed gratitude to God, family, friends and fans for the support.

"They say God's timing is indeed the best! As I pen down this note, I can't help but get emotional. It has been such a journey!! I want to thank God for his unending favour upon me. The franchise for taking a chance on me❤
My family...they have been supportive from the very first day I decided to venture into modelling.

My friends,the best cheering squad and support system I could ever ask for. The supporters I have garnered along the way, thank you for the support and confidence in me(I also secured a spot on the top 3 people's choice because of you!" she wrote.

Mokeira Onchiri took home the people’s choice award.

The event was attended by a couple of personalities including the Minister for ICT Innovation and Youth Affairs, Joe Mucheru, Ashleys founder Terry Mungai, Daddy Owen among others.

The judges were Robert Burale and singer Size 8 with Oga Obinna and Angela Muiruri being the emcees for the night.

Sharon Obara will represent the country in Puerto Rico in December at the global competition which was won by Miss South Africa Zozibini in 2019 to become the first black woman to win the competition since Leila Lopes in 2011.
