Mugithi singer Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh was put to task to explicitly state if he genuinely loves Karen Nyamu or if money was the motivating factor for him to get into an 'illicit' relationship with her.
The whole drama started when Samidoh took to social media to argue how men have no option but to sweat to earn their bread and butter.
The Mugithi singer noted that the society is lenient to women even if they choose not to work hard as men.
"A broke woman is still a woman. An educated woman is still a woman. A woman who can't provide is still a woman. And she gets all the respect she deserves. But a man without these things is a burden even to his own family.
"Men's lives solely depends on them. If you don't have a job, you sleep hungry, no luck, hakuna wa kukuhurumia, it's just hard work. A lady can have her way out but a man must work hard," Samidoh wrote.
In a quick rejoinder, a section of women fired at Samidoh claiming he was equally feeding off Karen Nyamu's wealth.
A netizen by the name Mum Natashia told off Samidoh claiming that he only fell for Nyamu because of material possessions, adding that the UDA-nominated senator gives him money.
"Pia men can have their you mean pia wewe si ulipenda Karen juu ya pesa. Na usitudanganye Karen hakupeangi doo," Mum Natashia commented on Samidoh's post.
Samidoh was rattled by Natashia's comment and he fired back. He told her to equally work hard to get money so that she could also give her husband.
"Earn your money with effort and be giving your husband. Don't be disabled body and mind," Samidoh told Natashia.
Samidoh, who is married to Edday Nderitu, has been dating Karen Nyamu on/off - albeit in secret at the beginning.
The two lovebirds met while he was performing at a political event in late 2019 and they quickly hit it off.
Nyamu didn’t waste time getting pregnant for him. She gave birth to Samidoh’s son in December 2020.
Samidoh publicly denied that he was Karen’s baby daddy for months until January 2021 when Nyamu spilled the beans.
The Mugithi singer publicly apologized to his wife after Nyamu exposed him as her baby daddy. However, Nyamu didn’t stop there, she got pregnant for Samidoh again and gave birth to a baby girl on February 26, 2022.
Nyamu and Samidoh's on/off relationship sometimes played out badly in public.
The two lovebirds had a dramatic breakup in Dubai in December 2022 before they got back together.
Samidoh and Nyamu indicated they were back together on February 23, 2023, when joined the family of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in paying their last respects to his sister-in-law.
Samidoh's wife Edday Nderitu came out guns blazing after the Mugithi sensation was spotted in the company of his baby mama at the burial of Gachagua's sister-in-law in Murang'a.
Edday penned an emotional message on her Facebook page suggesting that she would walk out of her marriage as she stressed that she couldn't raise her children in a polygamous marriage.
Samidoh and Nyamu were unmoved by Edday's message as they once again made a joint appearance at the burial of the singer's nephew Geoffrey Mwathi in Nakuru on March 8, 2023.
At the ceremony, the singer introduced Nyamu by their daughter's name (Mama Wairimu) when he asked her to greet mourners.
Edday and her three children moved to the US in early May 2023.
In July, Samidoh's estranged wife said in a post on social media that she was not in a polygamous marriage, adding that she had left her husband to 'whoever needed him more'.
"Lemmie clarify few things that were shared online and not accurate…… I am not in any polygamous marriage as stated I left the husband for whoever needed him more," Edday wrote on Facebook in part.
She explained that she decided to leave Samidoh in order to protect their teen daughter who was a direct recipient of an 'unbelievable behaviour' displayed.
"I made a decision to remove myself and my kids from that toxic environment especially my teen daughter who unfortunately is direct recipient of unbelievable behavior displayed …" She added.
