Nonini rubbishes claims that Juliani is broke, says he makes more money than governors

Popular rapper Hubert Mbuku Nakitare commonly known by his stage name Nonini, has defended fellow rapper Julius Owino alias Juliani from attacks on his financial status.

Juliani, who is currently in a romantic relationship with former Machakos county first lady Lilian Ng'ang'a, has been subject to online ridicule owing to his constant affiliation to Dandora slums where he was bred.

A faction of netizens have umpteenth times questioned Ng'ang'a's move of dumping the Machakos county governor Alfred Mutua for Juliani, whom they perceive as poorer than the county head.

Nonini however opined in an Instagram post that Kenyans should cut Juliani some slack.

The Keroro hitmaker stated that the rapper is among the most sought after artistes and that he makes huge sums of money from his career. Comparing him to governors who he says depend on monthly pay, Nonini claimed that the artiste is easily one of the most commercially successful artistes of the current generation.

"It's funny how people on the internet genuinely think that Juliani is broke. Obviously musicians we are self employed and hustle hard for our paper not the constant Governor monthly money offcourse and perks but seriously, over the past decade or so, the dude has remained the most sought-after and is easily one of the most commercially successful artists of our generation," he said.

He further added that the rapper once confided in him in a past interview that he used to rake in up to Ksh20m annualy from his music.

"This is the same guy who used to make up to Ksh 20 million annually from his music," he added.
