A day after it emerged that Nadia and singer Masauti were roughed up while performing at a concert in Mombasa, she has come out to explain what exactly happened.

Nadia says despite being mishandled, they decided to leave the stage in peace because they did not mean to cause chaos at the event.

"Tulitolewa platform... Masauti alikuwa anasema 'kuna nyimbo yangu ya mwisho sijawahi perform...acha niperform. mnanitoa stage na sijaperform nyimbo wangu (We were removed from the stage despite Masauti's plea to be allowed to perform his last song)," she narrated amid laughter.

Those present at the event claimed that though Nadia was allowed to perform five songs, she was constantly put under pressure by the organizers to leave the stage.

Nadia did not, however, reveal whether other artistes were also mistreated at the event which was organized by media personality Willy M Tuva.

The latest allegations of Kenyan artistes being mistreated at events come at a time when comedian Eric Omondi has been pushing for event organizers to respect Kenyan artistes.

Omondi has been demanding that Kenyan artistes should not be used as curtain-raisers whenever foreign artistes are performing locally.
