Mediamax Network Limited (MNL) has inked a deal with the County Government of Mombasa to support local talent.

In a partnership announced on Wednesday, November 15, Mediamax Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ken Ngaruiya and Governor Abdulswamad Nassir agreed to promote artistes in Mombasa by airing their content on MNL's TV and radio stations.

“One of the areas we have agreed to work together is in the content…to promote local artistes in Mombasa and see how we can put their content on both our TV and Radio stations," Ngaruiya said.

Further, the CEO said there are plans to set up public viewing points for the residents to enjoy the finals of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 competition.

“As Mediamax, we have FIFA public viewing license so we are planning to get a location within Mombasa County to see where we can showcase the finals for mwananchi to come and enjoy and support their favourite teams,” Ngaruiya said.

Governor Nassir, on his part, hailed the partnership saying it will help spotlight Mombasa county in a positive fashion.

“This is the importance of forging a good working relationship between a government and a media establishment. We are looking forward to good working relations and we promise to support MNL,” the governor said.

Mediamax is an innovative broadcast and publishing media house in Kenya boasting a host of opinion-shaping and fresh brands spanning Radio, Print, TV and Digital.

In October, AFS International in partnership with FIFA announced the launch of the official FIFA-branded public viewing events of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

In collaboration with Mediamax Network Limited and Radio Africa Group, AFS said it would organize and promote the public viewings scheduled to run from November 20 to December 18, 2022, the period the entire tournament is staged in Qatar.

This entails the screening of 28 World Cup matches in seven Fan Parks across the country.

Besides Mombasa, the screening also takes place in Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret, Meru and Machakos amongst other cities and towns.
