Gospel singer Mary Lincon opened up about her tribulations that pushed her to the verge of contemplating suicide.
Speaking during an interview on a YouTube channel, Lincon said she thought about taking her own life because of the hate on social media.
“There was a time I just wanted to die because of the insults and hate on social media. I went ahead and even planned how that would happen,” she said.
The gospel singer said she ultimately overcame the suicidal thoughts and learnt how to navigate the negativity on social media.
Lincon noted that she embraces the power of keeping quiet on social media, criticising detractors for reminding people about their ugly pasts.
"When you stay quiet nobody can tell what you are thinking and that is very powerful," she said.
Nudes
Mary Lincon came under a scathing attack when her sex video leaked sometime in November 2022.
The gospel singer was seen naked like an animal in the leaked video which went viral on social media.
Blogger Martha Mwihaki Hinga, who leaked Mary's nudes, claimed that the singer was sending her nudes to a wealthy man who was to pay her Ksh35,000 rent at an apartment along Kiambu road.
TikToker Sue Gacambi claimed Mary Lincon was sending her nudes to former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.
However, Sonko denied Sue Gacambi's allegations saying that he didn't even know who Mary Lincon was.
