Outgoing Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago’s wife could not hide her joy as her husband handed over the county's leadership to the incoming governor Jonathan Bii.

Speaking on August 25 during the swearing-in of Bii and his deputy at Eldoret Sports Club, Lucy Mandago warned women who were eying him noting that Mandago is hers and she is now in full control.

"Kama ulikuwa unamnyemelea, I want to tell you that your time is now up, he is now mine. It has not been an easy task with him at the helm. Thank you for giving him back to me," Lucy noted amid laughter from guests.

At the same time, Lucy handed the incoming First Lady a bible and hymn book and urged her to remain steadfast and support her husband in his new critical role.

"Sometimes you might be stressed but instead of looking for someone to talk to, open the hymn book and sing," she stated.

In his final speech after a successful two-year term as the governor, Mandago pledged to be available to his wife 24/7.

He said he is honoured to serve the county in his new role as a Uasin Gishu Senator.

"I want to thank the people of Uasin Gishu for giving me an opportunity to serve as their senator in Nairobi, I am now closer to my family and I want to inform them that I will now be available 24 hours," Mandago said.
