Outspoken lawyer Makau Mutua often cuts a figure of a polished professional with a serious demeanour in the public eye. When he is not in class teaching law, you will find him on Twitter or on your TV screen dissecting matters of politics and governance.
But away from work, the accomplished New York State University Professor is a loving and caring father who enjoys spending quality time with his family.
While celebrating this year's Father's Day, the 64-year-old, on Monday, June 19, shared never seen before photos of his all-grown sons and daughter enjoying a cheery moment at an undisclosed location.

In the first photo, the professor of law was photographed all swagged up, complete with a black hat, in the company of his three sons who were all rocking long dreadlocks.
And in the second photo, Mutua was, separately, photographed with his beautiful daughter.
One can't help but notice their beautiful smiles, perfectly captured by the 'mysterious' person behind the lenses.
He captioned the photos with the message 'fatherhood'.
Makau had on Sunday said he was suspending his political engagement on Twitter to wish all responsible dads a happy Father's Day.
"Today I am suspending all political fire as I wish happy Father’s Day to all responsible dads and a reflective Juneteenth," he said in a tweet.

Makau Mutua works for Raila
Mutua is a close ally of Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga. He is known for his hard-hitting newspaper columns targeting politicians in the rival Kenya Kwanza camp.
In March, the former Prime Minister named the lawyer as spokesperson of the Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Secretariat.
Mutua also doubles up as the head of Raila's campaign think tank.
