Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has postponed the release of his latest music video in honour of late President Mwai Kibaki.

In an update on his Instagram page, the rapper disclosed that the project was set to be released this week but he had to postpone it.

The music video will now be released on Wednesday, May 4.

“Maombi Ya Mama otw, was supposed to drop this week but we had to postpone it to next week after losing a National Hero (R.I.P Kibaki). On Wednesday we go live on YouTube, meanwhile, keep on,” the rapper said.

Kibaki tribute songs

This comes at a time when Kenyan artistes are facing criticism for failing to honour Kibaki by releasing tribute songs.

The body of the former Head of State is currently lying in state at Parliament.

The body left Lee Funeral Home at around 7:00 am and arrived at Parliament where it will lie in state for three days.

The casket carrying Kibaki’s body was wrapped in the National Flag and it was carried in a Gun Carriage.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta led the nation in viewing the body of the late Kenya’s third President.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the public will have a chance to view the body of the retired President and pay their last respects between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
