Two years ago, Karen Nyamu, the director at Nairobi Water and sewerage Company was snapped by a hawk-eyed photographer engulfed in smoke as she puffed bhang publicly.
The lawyer-cum-politician was gracing the finals of the annual Koth Biro football tournament at Umeme Grounds in Ziwani, Nairobi.
She was the talk of the town after the photos flooded social media platforms but she steered clear of the matter in the public until she was recently asked about it in a Youtube interview.

Karen claimed that she took three puffs from three different smokers to fit in and impress a group of men she claimed were political supporters who were at the tournament. She, however, refuted claims she is a regular smother.
She claimed that she does not smoke marijuana but only did it once in August 2019 at the tournament after youths puffing it coerced her.
“They told me vuta moja mhesh. Moshi moja mhesh. At that point do you pretend how righteous you are? Ati Mungu anakuona?” she asked.
Ahe claimed that she only pretended to smoke the marijuana to impress the youth but did not inhale it.
“I took three puffs from different smokers and that was the moment I was photographed. I don’t smoke weed but since that day many people believe I do” Karen said.
Adding; “Those close to me know I don’t. I have never spent my money on weed though I know they range from Sh50 to Sh100 per stick”.
