Celebrated Kikuyu benga queen Joyce wa Mamaa escaped losing her sight by a whisker after an attack during her birthday party on September 24.

Reports indicate that a random woman walked into the club and splashed a liquid substance on her face.

While her friends downplayed the incident and claim that the liquid substance was champagne, Joyce while speaking to a local media house said the substance was corrosive on her skin adding that the scenario was scary.

"The liquid was bitter in the eyes and corrosive on the skin but all is well now and my fans [have] nothing to fear though the incident has left me and several of my colleagues shaken."

Some said it was a 'champaign splash gone wrong' as the woman wanted to surprise the singer during the party.

In today's update through her social media, Joyce wa Mamaa confirmed that she is well and exposed the said woman terming her as 'the one who had plotted evil against her."

"Hello my FB family, thank you for your prayers, calls, and SMS, l really appreciate you guys..l thank God am well and am home. Gitiri mugwi wa mbara uhaririio mundu muthingu ukagacira wira-ini wagwo...(There is no weapon formed against me that will prosper)," she wrote.
