Gospel artist and Jalango's 'adopted child' Stanely Nakoche had a sit down with a local Youtuber to open up about his relationship with Jalas, expressing the difficulties he faced while seeking his helping hand back in 2019.

Nakoche who is an alumnus of Chavakali high school was born and raised in Kawangware.

He later discovered his talent in football which secured him a slot in the national school on a scholarship.

While still in high school, he dropped football and started singing one that really put him in a good spot even financially.

After clearing school, he however could not continue with music since he lacked resources.

It was at this point he considered seeking help from Jalas who at the time worked in Milele FM.

Nakoche recalls his back and forth trips to Milele studios from Kawangware on foot for almost a whole year in 2019.

His breakthrough came when he visited the studios on a rainy day and fortunately for him he was the only one that day so he caught his attention.

Jalas asked him to go to Mialle where he shoots for his Youtube videos but he still waited for some more weeks to have an interview with him.

"Nakoche ulipotelea wapi.. kuja Mialle kesho," he noted.

After the interview, he stuck around and eventually after three months got a space with his production team as setting manager.

He says he was just doing his normal setting duties and one day Jalas was so impressed and he eventually offered him the job.

"Alipenda bidii yangu. Nampenda na mimi humwita dad. (He aknowledged my hard work, I love him and I refer to him as my dad)" he noted.
