Deputy President William Ruto and his wife Rachel Ruto, on May 27, handed over their daughter June Ruto to her Nigerian partner Dr Alexander Ezenagu in a lavish wedding at their private residence in Karen.

June said “I do” to her partner after she was walked down the aisle by her father and mother at the invite-only ceremony.

Photos making rounds online displayed an evidently joyful Ruto in the company of close friends and family.

After the vows were exchanged, the guests joined the newly wedded couple for an adult reception at the same venue.

It was during the adult reception that Dr Ruto revealed how difficult it was for him to finally hand over her daughter in holy matrimony to the Nigerian man.

“It is not easy, as a parent to give away your daughter. It’s not easy or it’s that much difficult if you are giving out your daughter to Nigerians,” the DP said eliciting peals of giggly laughter from the audience.

June, the lady of the moment was dressed in an elegant yet simple satin gown while the groom cut a sharp look in his navy blue fitting suit, a black bow tie and white shirt.

June’s husband together with his family visited the DP early this month for dowry negotiations and introductions.

Before the wedding, the deputy president attended the national prayer breakfast meeting.
