Caroline Mutoko was the queen of Kenyan radio before she quit her job as Kiss FM presenter at the height of her career.

Mutoko left Kiss FM in September 2014 and nine years later she does not regret one bit the decision to quit her job.

Speaking during a recent interview, the former radio queen stated that she does not miss being on air and has never regretted her decision to quit radio.

“I don’t miss radio. I gave my best at Kiss FM for 14 years and at Capital FM for four and a half years. We did the best we could for each other,” Mutoko told Nairobi News.

The celebrated media personality added that she would rather do podcasts than return to radio.

“To be honest, if I wanted a radio experience, I would start a podcast. This is because a podcast is a high-breed radio. If you are podcasting and you have your cameras there, you’ve got a fantastic meeting with your audience. I would do a podcast rather than return to radio.”

The former Kiss FM presenter further explained that she left radio at the height of her career because she felt that her season was coming to an end.

“It’s been nine years since I came out of the radio. It was time and it’s been great. I am glad I did it. I know a lot of people were wondering what I was doing. Some were like, ‘You have a very great show on radio!’. But I knew that that season for me was ending, and I needed to step into my new one.”

Caroline Mutoko was christened ‘radio queen’ during her heydays as a presenter as she was very popular because of her frank discussions and approach to real everyday issues, some that rubbed politicians and other prominent personalities the wrong way.

The former radio queen was replaced by Shaffie Weru and Kalekye Mumo after she left Kiss FM.
