Controversial comedian Eric Omondi reveals that he regrets bringing his beef with media personality Jacque Maribe over their alleged 8-year-old son to the public eye.

Omondi takes responsibility for his position denying the boy however, he claims blogs spiralled things out of control.

"I regret denying that child in the public. Hasira hasara. I brought it in public but I believe blogs blew the story out of control," he said while appearing in a talk with Mwende Macharia.

The self-proclaimed President of comedy in Africa says he was forced to address the issue to protect his brand retaliating that he did not file a lawsuit against Maribe although he says it was the truth.

"I needed to protect my brand and bar fake stories flying around and while at it, I dragged the boy in the menace but I still stand behind those words," he said.

Adding;

"I was asked not to file a lawsuit but we did not solve the issue. I have however maintained a good relationship with the child and Jacquw who remains a good friend."

Eric Omondi, Maribe paternity feud

The beef stems from November 2021 altercation when Maribe claimed Eric Omondi was a deadbeat.

In a plot twist, Omondi denied fathering the said child and asked for a DNA test to confirm paternity.

In a lengthy write-up on Instagram, Omondi explained that he met Jacque in 2012 and the two slept together after a staff party at their company.

On the fateful night, he claims they used protection because after all, Jacque was dating another popular journalist Sam Ogina.

"So we met at Radio Africa in 2012. I was working at Radio Jambo and Jacque was working at Kiss TV. So one Random night after a Radio Africa Staff Party and after a few bottles of whiskey and wine glasses Jacque and I happened. It was really a one-night thing because she was dating KTN's Sam Ogina at the time. WE USED PROTECTION!!!" he wrote.

After two months, Jacque would then come around to say she was pregnant and while he questioned the chances that he was the father, Omondi says she supported her claims based on motherly instincts.

"After two months Jacque tells me she's pregnant!!! I immediately ask her how since we used protection??? She then tells me "It doesn't matter the mother always knows who the Father is and that I am the Father!!!" he added.

The comedian further claimed that he only heard from Jacque four months after the baby was born when she was requesting him to be part of the baby's life.

Eric Omondi later asked for a DNA test which allegedly offended Jacque and has turned down the request until now.

"During the entire pregnancy nothing happened and we barely saw each other. Roughly 4 months after the baby was born Jacque called me and asked me if I would help or be part of the baby's life. I asked her for a DNA test so that I could comfortably be part of the baby's life and SUPPORT fully. She got very offended and Refused my request. For 7 seven years I have begged Jacque to allow us to have a DNA Test and she has CONTINUALLY refused!!!" he claims.

Eric maintains that he has no problem supporting his son but on grounds that Jacque will provide a key piece of evidence and in this case a paternity test.

"I don't mind supporting the child but if you want me to be FULLY PRESENT and SUPPORTIVE if you want me to be a FATHER, then we have to do the RIGHT THING!!!!" Eric Omondi wrote in conclusion.
