Comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested and taken to Nairobi's Central Police Station.

Omondi was arrested during "Play 75% Kenyan Content" at the Parliament Building. The funny was protesting to force the parliamentarians to pass a bill that could see Kenyan musicians get more airplay on Kenyan media and better pay for their content.

"Kesho tunaenda PARLIAMENT ku fighting Muziki juu huko ndio kuna SPEAKER!!! But Wisdom will kill.me one day (Tomorrow (Today, Thursday) we will be at the parliament to fight for our music because that is the place where we have a speaker)," he said.

In a video circulating online Eric Omondi was seen demonstrating a few meters before the Parliament.

Omondi's demonstration, however, experienced a setback after the police disrupted it before arresting him.

"Don't arrest me! Don't arrest me! We will not suffer in this country! Eric Omondi is heard telling the police who roughed him up into their vehicle.

Following his arrest, no music artist has so far come out to stand with him except for rapper KRG the Don who has vowed that he is going to see Eric at the police station.

"Eric Omondi has been arrested in town while fighting for musicians, I have seen no musician standing with him... I am on my way going to town to secure Eric Omondi's release within two hours," KRG said.
