Ivy Chelimo, the content creator famed for nicknaming Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua 'Riggy G', has denied dumping her boyfriend after landing a plum job.

A Twitter user identified as Alvan Kirui had claimed that the creative dumped him after meeting the DP on Monday, October 17.

"This will always be my favourite picture I took of you. I can't believe your parents can advise you to leave me at my lowest. You know I love you, just remember all I've been doing for you, Ivy," Kirui captioned a photo of Chelimo.

In her response on Wednesday, Chelimo said she doesn't know the man and urged her fans to disregard the claims.

“Please I do not know anyone by the name Alvan Kirui and I have certainly not been involved with the person claiming in any way whatsoever!! Disregard any information circulating regarding the same,” she warned.

Chelimo met Gachagua at an event marking World Food Day in Kajiado early this week.

The country's second in command said he had offered the lady a job at his office.

“This lady is called Ivy Chelimo. She changed my name from Rigathi Gachagua and called me Riggy G. I have looked for her and awarded her a job opportunity in my office,” Gachagua said.

In her brief address at the event, Chelimo urged the youth to be aggressive in pursuit of success in life.

"He offered me a job. He is very passionate about the youth taking up places in this government…. I assure you he has things in place to ensure we the youth take up opportunities. And also you the youth, don’t sit down and wait for opportunities to come to you, run after activities as the youth. There is so much in this government for us to do,” Chelimo said.

In a past interview, the Catholic University alumna said she came up with the name while watching the deputy presidential debate.

“It happened in the spur of the moment. I had not thought much about the nickname but started seeing people mention it, so I thought someone else had coined it before me,” Chelimo said.

She said after making the tweet, she forgot about it until her friends texted her and told her that she was trending on Twitter.

“I was so shaken when my friends texted while at work saying I was trending on Twitter. Nine out of times, it is usually not because of something good. I had an influx of messages. It was overwhelming,” Chelimo added.

The DP accepted his new nickname while speaking during Music Festival finals on Friday, September 23 in Kisumu.

He also expressed his admiration for the love he had received noting that the name had become popular.

“I am even amazed that our creative young people have given me a nickname. They have looked at my name Rigathi Gachagua and looked for something more melodious and called me Riggy G

“I do not think it is a bad name. That is why we are saying that we should develop the talents of our people,” DP Gachagua stated.
