Comedian Eric Omondi has taken a swipe at fellow funnyman cum movie director, Eddie Butita, for ignoring his calls.

The controversial comedian claimed that he reached out to an unresponsive Butita, to direct his upcoming season of the infamous Wife Material Show.

In an initial post, Butita told Eric to reach him through his management, that he claims has now placed a Ksh3.5m price tag on his movie directing services.

“Eric Omondi as I told you earlier, my team has insisted the rate is USD 35,000 (close to Ksh3.5m) upfront juu wewe ni mtu wetu. Tell your management to do the honours,” Butita posted.

In his response, Eric chided at Butita for ignoring his calls saying that redirecting him to his management was an outright show of a condescending demeanour that has plagued the entertainment industry.

“This is the problem with our Industry Eddie Butita is not only a very good friend of mine but I consider him my bro. But sasa akianza kusema ati I talk to his team na achukui simu zangu. Why would you send me to your manager and yet we can talk and do business,” he said.

The comedian further alleged that Butita has grown proud since landing a lucrative deal with leading film company, Netflix. He promised to pay him more than his Ksh3.5m quotation.

Sisi hatuna shida ya Pesa we are only calling upon you to offer your professional services ama juu ya Netflix sasa umeingiwa na Kiburi. Shika simu yangu bro. The Show begins next week Tuesday and we need you. You’ve asked for 35,000 USD which is roughly Ksh3.5m and we are willing to pay even more,” Eric Omondi posted in response.
