Award-winning singer Bahati whose real name is Kevin Kioko revealed why he did not want to indulge in a romantic relationship shortly after adopting his son Morgan.

Taking to social media, Bahati in a long candid post recalled Morgan's adoption and says he avoided dating to protect him.

"Nakumbuka ata at times singe- date just to avoid the confusion of you calling different girls mummy (I still recall shunning from dating to avoid the confusion of him calling different girls Mum)," he wrote.

Mama hit singer further stated that he met Morgan during his first-ever concert at ABC Childrens' home in Mathare.

After the concert, Morgan who was two years old cried to him saying he wanted to go with him, something Bahati says was quite tough for him since he could totally relate to it and was not financially stable.

"I was just starting in my music career a few years after leaving ABC Childrens in Mathare and this was my first concert ever! After the show, the 2-Year-old Morgan Cried to go home with me and he did not want to go back to the orphanage where he lived after the demise of his parents. This was tough for me as I understood what he meant and even tougher considering I was still struggling financially to afford to raise a child," he wrote.

The 28-year-old continued to explain how much he had to adjust to his new life of being a father of a young boy noting;

"The big complication was I lived in a small room and I was not qualified to adopt ( I had no one to take care of the baby) I remember when I had to teach myself how to cook. I remember when I had to go with you to all shows before We could get a committed nanny. We have gone through a lot with you my son."

In conclusion, Bahati marvelled at the far he has come with Morgan and his entire family.

"Look at us now! You have the most amazing mum as you always wished. Look at your siblings. Look at the wonderful family God has blessed us with. What else can we ask from God apart from being thankful," he wrote in conclusion.

Bahati is married to the Internet sensational Diana-marua and they have two children, Heaven and Majesty and his daughter Mueni is by his ex-girlfriend Yvette Obura.
