AFRIMA Awards: Nikita Kering shines in Lagos, bags two precious prizes

Kenyan artiste Nikita Kering bagged two awards in the recently concluded All African Music Awards (AFRIMA) that was held in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, November 21.

Kering won the Best Artiste Rnb and Soul category as well as the Best Female Artiste Africa category.

She battled it out for the Best Female Artiste award with Nandi and Zuchu (Tanzania), Adekunle Gold and Omah Lay (Nigeria).

In pleasant turn of events, Nikita's 2019 record as the youngest AFRIMA awards winner was taken by a 13-year-old Kenyan Shanah Manjeru.

Manjeru becomes the youngest winner in the AFRIMA awards.

The teenager was unveiled as the winner of the Best African Female Artiste in Inspirational Music.

The young musician beat talented artistes such as beat Ada Ehi (Nigeria), Afrie (Uganda), Eden (Ivory Coast), Kamo Mphela (South Africa), Montess (Cameroon), Nata (Sierra Leone), Noel Nderitu (Kenya), Ruth Asong (Cameroon), Diana Hamilton (Ghana), and Kelly Khumalo (South Africa).

Also representing Kenya in the AFRIMA awards is Sautisol who won the Best African Group category.
